Street photography is a strange hobby. You walk through a city with a camera, hoping to capture a moment that no one else will see. Most of the time, you fail. You bring home a hundred photos and only one of them is interesting. But that one photo can be magical. I started doing street photography three years ago, when I bought a small camera with a fixed lens. The first month was uncomfortable. I felt strange taking pictures of strangers in public. I worried that people would get angry. In reality, almost nobody notices. People are busy with their phones, with their thoughts, with their lives. When someone does notice, a smile and a small nod are usually enough. If someone asks you to delete a photo, you delete it. End of story. What I love most is that street photography teaches you to see. You start paying attention to light, to colour, to small gestures. You walk slower. You notice the man reading a newspaper, the child laughing, the dog looking confused. Even when you don't take a single good photo, the city looks more interesting on the way home.
