Subjuntivo: demand/insist/suggest that + bare infinitive

La regla

Tras verbos como demand, insist, suggest, require, recommend, propose, y expresiones como 'it is essential/important/necessary that', usa el infinitivo sin 'to' (forma base) sin importar el sujeto.

"After verbs like demand, insist, suggest, require, recommend, propose, and expressions like 'it is essential/important/necessary that', use the bare infinitive (base form) regardless of subject."

El subjuntivo en inglés sobrevive sobre todo en inglés americano formal y en escritura académica/legal. La forma es la base del verbo: 'be', 'go', 'arrive' — sin -s en tercera persona y sin auxiliar. 'I suggest that he be present at the meeting' (no 'is'). 'It is essential that she arrive on time' (no 'arrives'). En negativo: 'I insist that he not be late' (sin 'doesn't'). En inglés britanico hablado se prefiere 'should + infinitivo' ('I suggest that he should be present') o directamente el indicativo, pero el subjuntivo es el registro más formal y aparece en Trinity ISE III. También pervive en expresiones fijas: 'If I were you', 'God save the Queen', 'Long live the King', 'Be that as it may'.

💡 Negativo subjuntivo: 'not be', sin 'doesn't'.

Subjuntivo exige forma base 'be', no 'is'. En BrE hablado también se acepta 'should be' o el indicativo, pero en C1 formal el subjuntivo es lo esperado.

Subjuntivo negativo: 'not + bare infinitive'. NUNCA con 'doesn't/don't'.

En subjuntivo irreal y registro formal/C1, 'were' para todas las personas.

El subjuntivo no concuerda con el tiempo del verbo principal: siempre forma base.
