Pareja contraste: on the one hand / on the other hand

La regla

Para presentar dos lados de un argumento o situacion. Vienen en pareja.

"To present two sides of an argument. They come as a pair."

'On the one hand...' introduce el primer lado. 'On the other hand...' introduce el segundo, contrastante. Tipico en ensayos discursivos, pros y contras. Usar uno sin el otro suena raro. NO confundir con 'on the contrary' (que significa 'al contrario, niego lo anterior') ni con 'in contrast' (que es solo el segundo lado, sin pareja).

On the one hand, the salary is good. On the other hand, the hours are long.

Por un lado el salario es bueno. Por otro las horas son largas.

On the one hand, remote work saves time. On the other hand, it can feel isolating.

Por un lado, el remoto ahorra tiempo. Por otro, puede ser aislante.

El orden es FIJO: primero 'on the one hand', luego 'on the other hand'.

Sí abres con 'on the one hand', cierra con 'on the other hand' (la pareja). 'However' rompe la simetria.

'On the contrary' niega lo anterior. Aquí solo contrastas pros y contras: usa la pareja.

Es 'on', no 'in'. Es preposicion fija.
