Concesion: even though / though / as though

La regla

'Even though' = aunque (enfatico). 'Though' = aunque (coloquial, va al final). 'As though' = como sí (hipotesis).

"'Even though' = although (emphatic). 'Though' = although (informal, often at end). 'As though' = as if (hypothesis)."

Las tres expresan concesion o hipotesis. 'Even though' es enfatica: 'aunque, a pesar de eso'. 'Though' es la version coloquial; ademas puede ir al final de la frase como atenuante. 'As though' (= as if) introduce una hipotesis irreal o aparente. NO confundir con 'although' (similar a even though pero menos enfatico) ni con 'despite' (que va con sustantivo, no clausula).

Even though I was tired, I finished the report.

Aunque estaba cansado, termine el informe.

I love coffee. I drink too much, though.

Me encanta el cafe. Tomo demasiado, eso sí.

💡 Though al final = pero/eso sí.

He looks as though he's seen a ghost.

Parece como sí hubiera visto un fantasma.

Even though the deploy failed, we learned a lot.

She speaks English as though she were a native.

Habla inglés como sí fuera nativa.

💡 Tras 'as though' a veces se usa subjuntivo (were).

I'll come to the meeting. I'm not feeling well, though.

Ire a la reunion. No me encuentro bien, eso sí.

'Even though' va con clausula completa (S + V). Para sustantivo usa 'despite' o 'in spite of'.

Sin coma despues de 'though' al inicio; con coma cuando va al final.

He acts as though he is owning the place.He acts as though he owns the place.

Tras 'as though' usa presente simple (o were para hipotesis irreal). NO continuous con verbos de estado.

Even though, but I was tired, I finished.Even though I was tired, I finished.

No mezcles 'even though' con 'but'. Usa una sola conexion.
