Conectores avanzados: although, despite, however

La regla

Although/though + frase; despite/in spite of + sustantivo o -ing; however = sin embargo (con coma).

"Although/though + clause; despite/in spite of + noun or -ing; however = nevertheless (with comma)."

Estos conectores expresan contraste pero tienen gramatica DIFERENTE. Although/though/even though introducen una clausula completa con sujeto y verbo: "Although the deploy failed, we shipped on Monday". Despite e in spite of van seguidos de sustantivo o forma en -ing: "Despite the failed deploy, we shipped" o "Despite failing the deploy, we shipped". However va al inicio de una frase nueva con coma: "The deploy failed. However, we shipped on Monday". El error más común es "despite of" - NO existe.
