Going to vs Will (futuro)

La regla

"Going to" para planes ya decididos; "will" para predicciones, decisiones espontaneas y promesas.

"Use "going to" for pre-made plans; use "will" for predictions, spontaneous decisions and promises."

Inglés tiene dos futuros principales y la diferencia es CUANDO decidiste. "Going to" se usa cuando ya tenias el plan antes de hablar ("I'm going to start at Nexora on Monday" - ya lo decidi). "Will" se usa para predicciones ("It will rain"), decisiones espontaneas en el momento ("I'll help you" - decidido AHORA), ofrecimientos y promesas. En español usamos "voy a" o el futuro simple casi indistintamente, pero inglés distingue.

Ejemplos

I'm going to start at Nexora on May 11th.

Voy a empezar en Nexora el 11 de mayo.

I'll help you with that ticket.

Te ayudo con ese ticket.

Trampas hispanohablantes

I will start at Nexora on Monday (cuando ya lo tenias planeado).I'm going to start at Nexora on Monday.

Plan ya decidido = going to. "Will" suena como decision instantánea.

Wait! I'm going to help you (decidido en el momento).Wait! I'll help you.

Decision espontanea = will. "Going to" suena a plan previo.

I will to call you.I will call you.

"Will" se usa con infinitivo SIN "to".

I'm going start tomorrow.I'm going to start tomorrow.

Necesitas "to" entre "going" y el verbo.

He'll going to come.He's going to come / He'll come.
